When the “jeans and tee” look doesn’t satisfy your fashion cravings but you still want to channel the classic ensemble, all you have to do is make small tweaks. Stand out from all the other boyfriend jeans and white v-necks with trendy alternatives, like I’ve done here.

My cropped jeans are lined with fringe at the bottom for two trends in one. Perfect with sleek sneakers for a day of running around, but also great over a pair of springtime stilettos. My balloon-sleeve sweater mixes up traditional proportions and creates new points of interest. It’s also cropped, mirroring the style of the jeans and tying the outfit together. My cluster drop earrings add a small shot of color near my face, and the pink heels balance the color story.

I love this look for a day full of brunch, work, and shopping. Not only do these pieces work fabulously together, but they’re separates that I can really wear with anything. It’s easy to move in and casual while still meeting stylish expectations. The light weight knit is just the ticket for spring weather, too.
