Vacay on my mind…

Memorial Day is an important day that America recognizes in honor of all of our veterans. For me it’s also the start of my  upcoming mini summer holidays.  “Americana” will be my inspiration for this weekend…. One outfit in particular that I’m excited to wear features this Alice + Olivia crocheted tank. The details are intricate and feminine, stealing the show.

To compliment the dark blue on the top, I’ll pair with light wash or white cut off jeans. Since stilettos aren’t the best match with jean shorts (but I still need my 4 inches of height,) I’ve opted for espadrille block heels. Almost a wedge, they’re perfect for walking around and social events on sunny summer days. The different shades of blue and red in this look create the illusion that there is more depth than there actually is. This makes the outfit more visually interesting, even though I’ll virtually be wearing as little as possible on a hot afternoon.

A hand beaded monogrammed  clutch is a must have on a day out, so I can keep my lip gloss and sunscreen handy. Finishing everything off with a pair of classic black ombre sunnies is a no-brainer. With a fun, bright red manicure or bright red lip, I’m ready for Memorial Day Weekend!
