The logo trend is back again in full effect, making a huge return since its’ last appearance back in the 90’s.Like every cyclical refresh, the trick to incorporating it into your wardrobe is to get creative with styling it; the way it was done back in the flygirl days was more over the top and less nuanced than what we are seeing on today’s runways. I lived through the 90’s trend and I will admit that it took a little bit for me to warm up to the nostalgia. That said….Fendi logo tights? LOVE them! Why? The simple answer is that they read as a pattern! I love how these are done in neutral colors and can make a simple LBD take on an entirely new life. Here I’ve layered a bit but kept the color palette simple, black and tan. I started with a basic turtleneck and black velvet skirt, added a corduroy blazer for texture and then topped it off with a wide patent leather belt and black riding boots (high heeled of course). I chose this faux fur coat within the same color story to create a look that has depth, texture, and a flattering silhouette.
In the mix of NY Fashion Week, I took the opportunity to shoot at my favorite spot in NYC…..the Bow Bridge in Central Park. I shoot here at least once a season as the background changes and really inspires my look. While summer inspires a rich and colorful look, and fall a more earthy muse, there is something beautiful about the barren trees against the backdrop of the concrete buildings.
