A proper garden party…
Dear friends. Beautiful bites. Lovely libations. Colorful toggery. Sounds like a party….a garden party!
Any girl knows that an appropriate proper garden party outfit will always include floral prints.
And while we all love bright flowery prints as the go-to pattern of spring and summer, fall-hued florals are darker, and to my mind, more dramatic and evocative. This Karen Millen blouse and pants set is sure to be the hit of the party! I love this for a garden party outfit!
These pleated pants read as a maxi skirt and the viney rose print is like a beautiful painting…simply stunning! They are part of The Legacy Collection from Karen Millen x Lydia Millen showcasing her flair for elegant feminine silhouettes. I’m obsessed with these palazzo pants and the fluidity of the entire look.
I chose the perfect setting for this shoot….the lawn at The Marble House in Newport Rhode Island. The house was designed by the architect Richard Morris Hunt, inspired by the Petit Trianon at Versailles. It was built between 1888 and 1892 and gifted to Alva Vanderbilt who also commissioned a Chinese Tea House to be built on the seaside cliffs of the property. You can see part of the Tea House behind me in one of the pics below. She envisioned Marble House as her “temple to the arts” in America and it was where she hosted many garden parties as well as rallies for women’s right to vote. My kinda gal!
