If you follow Wardrobe Envy or know me personally, you know I’m a lover of color. It takes true stand-out pieces for me to go totally monochromatic. I’ve recently been obsessing over two gorgeous frocks that fit this requirement, both from a boutique in New York City called Dreams on Air…a retail space and a showroom filled with designer pieces for those with a developed sartorial sense.
I can wear this intricate little black dress by Narciss and cozy textured sweater by Andreeva all year round. Narciss is an eclectic luxury brand that mixes classic, edgy, feminine and masculine aesthetics to create collection after collection of works of art. This lace-hemmed dress is sexy by itself, but absolutely daytime-ready when paired with a funky cardigan or lightweight jacket. Versatility is definitely one of the main things I look for when investing in a new piece for my closet.
Andreeva offers a number of hand-made quality separates, when put together as a collection, create an entire wardrobe. I adore their exquisite workmanship, so much so that I feel as if I’m wearing a masterpiece when I put this cardigan on. The fringe feels fantastic and the beaded tassels add even more visual interest. When I pair this longline piece with the LBD, I’m ready for any event based on how I style the look. Thigh high boots add a bit of sultry edge, while my choker tones it all down with a playful heart pattern.
The red croc clutch is just the right amount of color, so as not to overpower the gorgeous details throughout the rest of the outfit. Maybe you have a similar clutch or micro-crossbody in your closet… Wear it crossbody style as part of the ensemble, or just carry it clutch-style if you prefer it as a highlight to the monochrome details. Wherever I’m off to this spring, I know that both the dress and cardigan will be among of my go-to pieces.
